So much for the “kumbaya” attitude with Barack in the seat…

Date January 21, 2009

Well, I was supposed to help out Em here for a bit as she needed to attend to a couple things - and then I up and get sick to the point of not even turning on the laptop.  Well, we’ll slowly start to spin ourselves back up to speed, shall we?  Let’s start with a small one and we’ll keep working up from there….

Let’s start with a little “reaching across the political divide” educational style - you know, the unity and forgiveness that with the ascension of The One was supposed to bring:

Jackson Public Schools board member to teachers who did not show inauguration: Go home

Jackson Public Schools board member Sheila Patterson had a strong message Tuesday for some teachers who did not “feel it was important” to show the inauguration of President Barack Obama during class.

“They don’t belong in this school district — not the type of district we have here,” Patterson said at Tuesday’s board meeting.

Patterson was speaking of the 43 percent minority student population, and that the inauguration of the first black president was an historic event no matter what political viewpoint one has.

“I am just very very disappointed,” she said.

On a serious note, would she really had the same reaction if the incoming President had been a black CONSERVATIVE Republican?  I watched with dismay on the invective hurled by Lefty / Liberal / Progressive commentators of all colors upon Colin Powell and Condelezza Rice over the past 8 years - it was not a pretty sight.  It seems that unless the philosophical line is toed, you’re toast in so very many ways.

Look, politics of ANY stripe should be verbotten in any classroom be it Right or Left.  The unfortunate reality is that conservative message is not standing next to that of the liberal message due to lack of numbers, intimidation, and general environment.   This is an example of going against the liberal line - how DARE you diss my guy?

And right now, I’m not going to touch the implicit race baiting of the above Board member.  As far as I’m concerned, I note that Barack is black and he’s the President.  Noted and duly recorded.  My problems will not be with the color of his skin; rather, it will be the slow road to socialism that we, most likely, will be dragged down.

Need an example? HillaryCare, that abomination that would be government completely taking over the nation’s healthcare system,  was killed because it was too much, too soon and in too little time.  Watch Obama’s steps with Tom Daschle with his Federal Health Board; it will be one step at a time all under the guise of insuring all 47 million that don’t have such (I wrote about THAT silly number here).

And I thought the one of the stances of the Liberals was to not let government to  ” get in between a woman and her doctor”.

Oops, I guess that was only in the case of abortions…..carry on!
