This Is What Feminism Looks Like

Vice Presidential nominee Sarah Palin backstage at the rally where she was introduced to the world, juggling her BlackBerry and baby son, Trig.

Love this picture and agree, this is one example of what feminism looks like. Feminism comes in a lot of shapes and colors. This is definitely feminism.

I hope her secret service detail is in place. Code Pink and NOW can’t be happy about this, and if I were her, I’d avoid being in the same city as Hillary for the next few years.

[...] I couldn’t agree more. Look: She’s not going to win over Hillaryites. She made an obligatory pitch to them at the Dayton rally because you can’t be a woman in politics today without genuflecting to our new feminist pope, but the hardcore Hillary fans are the sort of self-congratulatory “raised consciousness” liberals who’ll regard the Palin pick as something insulting, to be aggrieved about. Write them off. Go after the majority of women who fall somewhere across the rest of the spectrum. E.M. Zanotti’s a conservative feminist and her feelings about the pick are clear. Ann Althouse is a centrist feminist and she seems plenty positive about it thus far too. Quote: “As a feminist, I love that she did not leverage herself into power through her husband and consider this an important improvement over Hillary.” Wonder of wonders, women don’t vote as a monolithic group, no matter how much our down-the-middle media would have you believe that only a pant-suited pro-choice warrior can adequately represent “authentic” feminism. Goldberg: She needs to directly attack, albeit in a deft way, the feminist pinheads who are attacking her. She will never win over that crowd and no Republican would. But, most women — including female Democrats — don’t follow the self-described leaders of womankind. She would do enormous service to her campaign and the cause if she said “these self-appointed leftwing activists who claim to speak for all women are now claiming I’m somehow not a real woman….” and then list all of the ways she has more in common with working women than the talking heads on MSNBC. She needs to create a wedge between feminists and women. Don’t concede the assumption — the way the media always does — that NOW and that crowd speak for women. She shouldn’t do it in an angry way. She should do it in a lightly contemptuous or dismissive way. The conservative base would love it, but I think that kind of gendered populism would win-over a lot of women who like feminine strength and independence but reject the feminist label (there are a lot of them). As a husband and a father of three adult ladies, it looks pretty much everday life to me.

Seriously… .(long pause)…..no seriously…this is not feminism..this is call being a woman and everyday life of a mother and a person in general..
A feminist dosn’t join a party that voted against womens rights 19 times… and her political boss.. Micky McCain voted against the equal pay act for women..
I am sure she is loving getting all the attention from Hillary Clintons work.. I wonder if Hillary wasn’t even in this race she would probably still be moose hunting in Alaska.. govnering over the 2 people that live in that state…
Hillary probably wants to back slap her.

Modern Feminism
E.M. Zanotti has a picture of what feminism looks like today. As Mrs. Opinionator will tell you, more women can identify with this image than what the talking heads on the left call feminism. Be sure to stop by and…

Yup, looks like feminism. Good for her, but she’s still about as qualified for the job as Harriet Meirs was for the SCOTUS.

The one good thing about the how the left keeps claiming that being a governor of a state, as was Clinton and Carter, is a lack of experience then it keeps Obama’s greater lack of executive experience in the conversation and he is running for the top job.
I consult to a large publicly owned healthcare company and almost all of the corporate VP’s are women. It is not unusual to be on a conference call and hear infants or toddlers in the background. I admire the ability to carry such a work load and still get the job done.
Nobody in their right mind can claim that Sarah Palin is out of touch with the daily problems of regular people. Feminist simply can’t stand someone like Palin that has it all going for her and got where where she is on her own without any help from government intervention.
Also if Democrats truly believe they are going to win the election and Palin is such a poor choice why are they in such a huff about her ?

Palin should ignore Goldberg’s advice and stick to the issues. What women are looking for is someone they can look up to and relate to, not an attack dog. ( In this man’s opinion, anyway)

I understand why the feminists disagree with some of Sarah Palin’s views, like abortion, and I understand their disappointment at loosing Hillary as the first female President, or Vice President. But, now they have a real chance to elect the first ever female Vice President. A woman who exemplifies so many amazing qualities, including her successes and 85% approval rating as Alaska’s governor, mother of five, and the whole nine yards. In addition to breaking the glass ceiling, Palin can finally bring about tremendous reforms for women. As International abuses keep coming to light regarding women’s rights, including everything from burkas, to white slavery, to honor killings, you would certainly think that women would be tripping over themselves to elevate one of their own to such a high position. What a shame the feminists are so petty that they can’t see the big picture, set aside their conflicting grievances, and make a couple of concessions, in order to progress in such a big way.
