OMG SARAH PALIN OMGLOLWFT?!?! SARAH PALIN!!!
August 29, 2008
I was working on a pro-Palin post, but Ed’s take is just so much better than I could ever do.
Here’s my post from months ago…She’s Not Just Hot, She’s Vice President.
The best part….
[S]he was Miss Congeniality when she competed for Miss Alaska, she used marijuana when it was legal in her state, loves moose burgers and snowmobiling and is a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association (she sounds like a Playboy calendar girl now, oops), but she has so much more to offer than just being the dream girl of any red-blooded American, Republican man. She’s been a city councilman, a mayor, head of various commissions within the state of Alaska (some of which she quit because her fellow Republican commissioners were too corrupt — a character trait we need more of), and she’s done a hell of a good job as governor and is a total DC outsider. Did we mention she favors spreading the wealth so as to empower local rule, sold a wasteful government jet on eBay, and is a member of Feminists for Life?
Okay, so I lost ten bucks on Joe Lieberman, BUT WHAT A WAY TO LOSE TEN BUCKS!!! I don’t even have pants on and I am running around blogging because I AM SO EXCITED OMG PLEASE LET THIS NOT BE A HEAD FAKE OMG. I have resisted blogging on the whole McCain Veep thing because they kept faking everyone out and telling us that this guy was clearing his schedule and this guy had the Secret Service creeping out and NOW there’s a CHARTERED JET that is landing from ALASKA and OMG SARAH PALIN OMGOMGOMGOMG!
P.S. If this is not a head fake (they are saying she’s still in Dayton), and it had BETTER NOT BE, that ten bucks is being donated to McCain’s campaign.
P.P.S. I now have pants on.
P.P.P.S. On the train, I got a message that it was Lindsay Graham, and I almost threw up AND broke the “no f-word on a blog rule.”
P.P.P.S. CNBC is confirming…I think. At this point, anything else would be a disappointment.
P.P.P.P.S. I’m hearing more confirmations, and that the only person who was saying she was still in Alaska was her spokeswoman. Now, Palin’s staff is saying they don’t know WHERE she is! LOL!
Major props to the McCain campaign for stealing Obama’s morning after glow. CNN is practically choking on their desire to keep it all Obama all the time.
P.P.P.P.P.S. Palin’s parents were told to wait by the radio…how adorable!
Okay, I’m done with the PS’es…A gun toting pro-lifer…hilarious. She’s not a run of the mill pro-lifer, though. She’s a feminist for life, so honestly, she’s about making abortion unnecessary, which is right in line with me. I have to admit. I have a girl-crush at the moment.
Okay, now that I’ve calmed down, I can write normally again. I am just so excited. I called Sarah at the start of the campaign, and I am so glad to have her on board. My office just took down our Bob Barr hat and I joined my first Palin-centric Facebook group.
Why do I like her? She’s young, she’s vivacious…five kids(one in the army who enlisted on 9/11 and one with Downs Syndrome), and she’s not just a solid conservative, but she lives it…and she’s cool. Most of all, though, she’s strong on energy policy, not just because she’s experienced with it, but because she lives with energy policy every day of her life, being the governor of Alaska. She’s not experienced the way some choices would be, but she’s more experienced than Obama and he’s running for the top office, and as far as foreign policy is concerned, very few people can say that they lived within a hairsbreadth of being Russian or Canadian every day of their life. She’s also a Washington outsider, which means that the only ticket with two insiders is the Obama-Biden ticket. Did I mention she’s hot?
I have to hand it to McCain. CNN and others were choking on the story, trying desperately to hang on to last nights Obama b-roll.
Whoever McCain had picked, he did a fantastic job with PR and I’m impressed. I still don’t like him, but I am with Sarah all the way.

I doubt it’ll be Palin - my $10 is still on Lieberman. McCain’s gonna find a way to pi$$ off the conservative base…watch & see.

I like the idea of Palin. He’s pick up all of those borderline psycho Hillary supporters. I’d be happy with Lieberman too.

OK, I was WRONG - FOX News is also just confirming it’s Palin. E.M. - where should I send the $10?
August 29th, 2008 at 7:09 am
And you picked her on Feb 12, 2008!!!
Great blog!

Thank the Lord! I can finally get excited about this year’s election. You’re right, Em, Sarah Palin rocks, and she is a hottie.

obama is toast

I think it’s fantastic that the playing field now seems to be leveled. Nice counter point to Obama’s INTERNSHIP presidency run. Predictably, now the Dems are scrambling to tell everyone how much experience she lacks while their “PRESIDENTIAL” candidate has a similar (very small) amount of experience to Palenty. It is apparent to me that since “EXPERIENCE” means nothing to Democrats evident by their candidate, Palenty seems to be a fine choice. BRAVO REPUBLICANS!!!!!!!
Doesn’t it make logical sense to elect a “PRESIDENT” with experience rather than a “VICE PRESIDENT?” After all, who do you think makes all of the important decisions?
August 29th, 2008 at 8:07 am
Awesome, pure awesome. Got me completely off guard.
August 29th, 2008 at 8:12 am
LOL! I love your reaction, princess. I am absolutely shocked and heartened at the degree to which McCain did The Right Thing(tm). The man actually picked a conservative. How awesome is that?!
August 29th, 2008 at 8:37 am
Wow. I thought I was reading a Myspace bulletin for a moment.
August 29th, 2008 at 8:38 am
Seriously? She is one of the most inexperienced political figures he could have chosen. She was mayer of a small ass city in Alaska and just became governor of Alaska because everyone hated the old governor.
“The pro-drilling crowd will be pleased. She is sueing the Federal Government even suggesting that polar bears should be listed as ‘threatened’. We can’t have those polar bears interfering with oil rigs.
And then there’s that little ethics investigation into her conduct by the Alaska State Legislature…”
Cheers McCain for your lousy attempt to get those disgruntled Hillary voters!
I think I’ll be laughing about this all weekend!
August 29th, 2008 at 8:53 am
Wait…our Vice Presidential candidate has more experience than….the Dems Presidential candidate? Hmm…something seems weird there…
We’ve been over that ethics investigation, newbie. Next time you want to hang out, bring something you didn’t copy and paste from one of Thad’s earlier missives.
August 29th, 2008 at 9:06 am
What? Joe Biden has been a Senator since 1973! Palin has been in public office since 1996…
August 29th, 2008 at 9:07 am
Where the MSM will likely attack is the scenario where McCain chokes on a pretzel and we are left with an inexperienced President and can we really risk that? And they will say that with a completely straight face.
But hell, like Em said, Fauxbama has even less leadership experience, and they’re willing to make him leader of the free world?
This just got really interesting again. Bravo, McCain!
August 29th, 2008 at 9:09 am
Apparently, reading comprehension isn’t one of freebie’s strong suits.
Read EM’s post again.
She said that Palin had more experience than Obama, not Biden.
August 29th, 2008 at 9:24 am
I like that he made a point for me that I didn’t even make. Obama, for all his talk of “change,” managed to pick a lobbyist sock puppet who hasn’t seen the outside of DC since before the Carter administration. Hell, FORD was in office when Biden started his political career. Put some military experience on him and Biden would ALMOST be John McCain. He’d need to grow some balls first, though. Its that kind of ironic that you only see in Urban Outfitters these days.
Palin has more experience than OBAMA. And what experience she has, she got in the trenches, not as the golden child of Daley and his ilk. She actually has more executive experience than all three of the other characters put together.
I found this over at Rob’s site, too, which I think really hits that point hard:

Is that E.M. we hear having a joygasm over this?
August 29th, 2008 at 10:03 am
You guys are seriously, seriously demented. Wow I’m blown away at your stupidity.
August 29th, 2008 at 10:17 am
I find it impressive that an Obama voter can say that.
August 29th, 2008 at 11:21 am
I’m no longer holding my nose this election. Obama talked about change and Palin delivered change to Alaska.
On life issues, there is literally nobody better. On 2nd Amendment issues, she’s as good as it gets. On fiscal conservative issues, she’s a fresh change from W.
I don’t like the lack of experience, but she’s running for VP, a do nothing position outside of breaking ties. She is a quick learner, and can learn from McCain so she is ready if need be.

[...] August 31, 2008 by Harris There’s no question the selection of Sarah Palin has been a hit with the social conservatives. E.M Zanotti (aka American Princess) loses herself: I AM SO EXCITED OMG PLEASE LET THIS NOT BE A HEAD FAKE OMG.
