You Know, Thats Correct.

Date March 11, 2008

Sometimes, the DailyKos yields a gem:

“Saying that Hillary has Executive Branch experience is like saying Yoko Ono was a Beatle,”

Of course, Yoko has kind of gotten the last laugh as she holds the rights to John Lennon’s estate, image and all of Lennon’s songs, so theoretically, for the last two decades, she’s been controlling all of the Beatles’ ability to commercialize, pulling the strings from behind the scenes. And at the time, one could argue that Yoko Ono’s presence was dictating the direction of the Beatles, too, even going so far as to contribute (with Lennon) to The White Album. After all, there are a dozen or so songs that explicitly or implicitly mention Yoko indicating that, although Lennon was the only one of the couple who was an actual member of the band, that after 1968, a good deal of his artistic creation was in some way a product of Yoko, too.

Hmmm…

One could say that, but one would be insane.

Well, no…I meant to make the analogy that she was a major artistic inspiration for Lennon who was a primary contributor to the Beatles.

    Thanks for the follow up!
Here’s the problem, E.M. I attended a concert when Yoko emerged from a bag and howled for what seemed like a tremendously long time…although time was an abstract concept that night.
I suspect you’re right about the inspiration, though, because John got kind of hostile about the negative reaction.
Fact is, I take this stuff entirely too seriously. It’s an age thing.

Heh…I met Yoko once at an art installation and she did the same thing. She’s lucky it was Detroit and she mimicked the sound of a wailing car alarm or she might have been carried away out of fear she’d had some sort of seizure.

Is Hillary really Yoko Ono? I mean…eeesh.

I think Barenaked Ladies “Be My Yoko Ono” is going in this weeks top ten.
