Its Things Like This

Date October 2, 2007

That occasionally make us wonder why there aren’t exams administered to of-age people to determine whether they would make fit parents.

Two-year-olds Zola and Veronica Kruschel waddled through Folsom Street Fair amidst strangers in fishnets and leather crotch pouches, semi and fully nude men. The twin girls who were also dressed for the event wore identical lace blouses, floral bonnets and black leather collars purchased from a pet store.

Fathers Gary Beuschel and John Kruse watched over them closely. They were proud to show the twins off.

They will see more than the kids with moms and dads in Iowa, said Beuschel, who wanted to expose his children to San Franciscos diverse community. Every parent has to decide for themselves what is right for them. And I respect that. And we decided that this is right for our children..

This isn’t a gay versus straight parenting thing, though we’d imagine the majority of people present at the “leather fair” (which actually is no longer sponsored by Miller, since the ads depicted a fetish-laden Last Supper) were not “straight,” though to be honest, you can’t exactly tell. People perverted enough to play with themselves in public and purchase mini-bondage sets for their children at pet stores probably don’t fit into the set categories we generally assume people come in. Clearly, there are crappy parents of every sexual persuasion. These people probably shouldn’t be allowed the pets they sell at the store they bought their accoutrement at.

Remember, America, reading the Bible in school is bad.

Though this particular event somehow lacks entertainment value, the kind of thinking that motivated including the children in the first place leaves us wondering if cognitive dissonance is transmitted via foodstuffs.

Father of two, John Kruse said it is an educational experience for children. He said there were conservative parents against having kids at the event.

Those are the same close-minded people who think we shouldn?t have children to begin with,? he said.

Step back for a moment, Mr. Kruse, if that is your real name and not something you made up as a creative pun on the other odd California Cruise, and consider what you are saying. Your children are dressed as mini-dominatrixes, and you’re lecturing conservatives about their problems with your potential parentage? Or even your potential inclusion of young, impressionable girls in a fair about sexual deviance? At what point did that become evidence of your being a fit parent?

Yes, we know. Clearly we’re barking up the wrong tree. Or cow. Or whatever. Someday, California will either rule the country or float out to sea, and either way, we’ll have achieved consensus on this particular political issue.

I get out to San Francisco fairly regularly for conferences, and it really is different out there. Homeless people are referred to as “outdoors men” so as not to stigmatize their “lifestyle”, and the city won’t do anything about the highly aggressive panhandling. Most of the panhandlers I saw were nicely dressed men in their 20’s, and one got so annoyed when I wouldn’t give him any money that he actually followed me into the lobby of a restaurant.

I like to think of the city as a laboratory for leftist social policy run amok. This is a good thing - it shows what doesn’t work.

    regards,

Inasmuch as neither father Gary nor John was physically capable of giving birth to twins Zola and Veronica (who strangely enough do not share a surname with either father), one has to wonder where the mother Jane Doe is that did give birth to these girls, and if she knows what kind of lifestyle these children are being indoctrinated into…

You know, our two dads believe that they can raise their kids as they see fit, even indoctrinating them into their own brand of leftist stupidity.

And they probably have a “hate is not a family value” sticker on their car. Because *their* values are appropriate for families, but if you disagree with them, then your values are wrong.

A couple months ago, a commenter on another blog used the phrase “moral vanity” when discussing leftists. I think these two idjits reek of moral vanity.

All of this is just the logical extension of what liberalism has preached for decades: do what you feel, when you feel like doing it.

Oh, and smear anyone who disagrees with you.

San Francisco is without question the laughing stock of the United States.
